Running in darkness
With gun in the hand;
Not remembering
When the chase began.

What was I pursuing?
I could not remember;
Maybe revenge,
Or was I a bounty hunter?

Blinding storm clouds
Made it hard to see,
But before I knew it
You appeared before me.

Lost for words
I fall into tears.
My sight became clear
As you came near.

The hot red fever
That made me go blind
Cooled down like night
As you kissed my eyes.

I almost forgot myself;
I only thought of my fight,
But like an angel
You showed me the light.

What was I chasing,
What was unseen;
Maybe next year I’ll know
The meaning of this dream.
