Longing to be back to the land by the sea,
Where the air smelled nostalgically sweet in the cool summer breeze.
I felt lucky to go abroad, working close to the shore
While some of the staff had never left their country before.
I always smiled silly that they thought I
was funny,
But that didn’t matter as nonetheless they loved me.
On the other side of the world I felt at home
Even though I was traveling on my own.
Walking by the river every morning was
pleasant;
A mother duck and ducklings were always present.
In the evening we bid each other goodbye
As a rainbow framed the full moon in the misty sky.
I could never forget the welcome party they
threw me;
My tension and fear dissolved as I enjoyed my tea.
On my last day, at the beach, we had dinner among the trees
While watching a beautiful sunset over a mountain across the sea.
Then played with fireworks after the sun was
set.
In the end I received gifts I will never forget.
How sad I was to leave…
Back in school missing those days,
Suddenly my supervisor shows up, but soon after walks away…
I seek him, wondering why he leaves without saying goodbye.
I find him with the rest of the staff; even those who never traveled the sky!
They had all come to see me…
I open my eyes; it was only a dream,
But surely not the last I’ll see of the team.
All the good times I will never forget;
My supervisor did not say goodbye because it isn’t goodbye yet;
I shall see them again, some day…
